CPA and advisor who sees the through-line — connecting business models, strategy, and execution.
Alex Drost is a CPA and advisor who sees the through-line — connecting business models, strategy, and execution. Most advisors work inside one of those layers. Alex works the seam where they meet.
He hosts the Branch Out Podcast, with more than 100 episodes exploring how leaders think.
Behind that is fifteen years in M&A and private capital markets, including his years as Vice President of Middle-Market Investment Banking at Cascade Partners, leading capital raises and buy- and sell-side transactions across professional services, physician practices, multi-site retail, and telecommunications. That work shapes how he reads a business today: where value is created, where it leaks, and where the real constraint sits.
Alex speaks regularly to accounting and advisory audiences — including the MICPA, the AAM Summit, the BDO Alliance, LEA, and ACG — on private equity’s impact on the profession, business development, and building the case for growth.
He holds a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Northwood University and an M.S.F. in Corporate Finance from Walsh College, and is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan. He lives and works in Detroit.
